The Association for Children with Disabilities was established in 1991 pursuant to Ministerial Decision No. 19/91, issued by the then Minister of Social Affairs, Labour and Vocational Training (currently the Ministry of Social Development) on 23 Shawwal 1411 AH, corresponding to 8 May 1991.

The Association’s headquarters is located in Al Athaiba, Wilayat of Bawshar, Muscat Governorate, Sultanate of Oman.

Through its continuous services, the Association is committed to promoting and safeguarding the rights of children with disabilities to life, citizenship, and equal participation in society. Its work is guided by the principles and objectives of the National Strategy, in addition to the following key objectives:

• To support children with disabilities and assist them in all aspects of life.
• To provide care for children with disabilities and deliver the highest standards of modern, specialized services to enhance their well-being and development.
• To raise public awareness, as well as the awareness of governmental and private institutions, regarding the rights of persons with disabilities.
